Day : 28 January 2025: Arrival in Delhi

Welcome to India! Upon landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, State Express representative will be there to welcome you. You’ll be seamlessly transferred to your hotel for an easy check-in. (14:00 hrs). Once settled, get ready to explore the heart of Old Delhi.

Our tour begins at Jama Masjid, one of Asia’s largest mosques, constructed in 1650. Imagine yourself standing amidst this grand structure, feeling the echoes of history. Next, we’ll move through the lively, narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk on a rickshaw ride, experiencing the vibrant bazaar life. As we drive past the majestic Red Fort, you’ll feel the grandeur of the Mughal Empire. We will also pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi (Father of our Nation) at the Raj Ghat.

In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a panoramic tour of New Delhi, driving past the iconic India Gate, the grand Parliament Buildings, and the President House (Rashtra-Pati Bhawan). As the day winds down, we’ll return to the hotel where you can relax and prepare for the journey ahead.

Day : 29 January 2025: Delhi – Fatehpur Sikri- Agra (200 KM, 4 HOURS)

After the breakfast, we’ll set off for Agra, with a fascinating stop at Fatehpur Sikri along the way. Fonded  in 1569, this historic city was the second capital of Mughal Emperor Akbar. As you walk through this UNESCO World Heritage site, you’ll marvel at the grand mosque and the three palaces built for Akbar’s favourite queens. The blend of Indo-Islamic architecture here is simply breathtaking.

Upon arriving in Agra, you’ll check in at your hotel. Agra, once the thriving capital of Mughal India, is rich with history. We’ll visit the magnificent Agra Fort, where you’ll feel the power and grandeur of the Mughal dynasty. Then, we’ll explore Sikandra, the final resting place of Emperor “Akbar the Great”.

Day : 30 January 2025: Agra –Gwalior – Orchha (250 KM, 4.5 HOURS)

Rise early for an unforgettable visit to the Taj Mahal. As the morning light bathes this marble masterpiece, you’ll be captivated by its beauty and the love story behind it. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his Queen Mumtaj, and is one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. After this serene experience, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast before heading to Gwalior.

In Gwalior, we’ll explore the impressive Gwalior Fort. Perched high on a hill, this fort is a gem of Indian architecture. As you wander through its ramparts and palaces, you’ll encounter a mix of styles from different eras, with the Man Mandir Palace being particularly stunning with its blue-tiled decorations.

Our journey continues to Orchha, a charming town established in the 16th century by Rudra Pratap Singh. Surrounded by hills and lush greenery, Orchha is a place where history comes alive. After checking in at your hotel, take a moment to soak in the tranquil atmosphere.

Day : 31 January 2025 : Orchha- Khajuraho (170 KM, 3 HOURS)

After breakfast, we’ll visit Rai Praveen Mahal, known for its enchanting beauty and lush gardens. This palace, adorned with murals depicting the moods of Rai Praveen, will transport you to another era. Next, we’ll explore the Laxminarayan Temple, dedicated to Goddess Laxmi, showcasing a unique blend of fort and temple architecture.

We’ll then depart for Khajuraho, where you’ll check in at your hotel. The temples of Khajuraho are a feast for the eyes, with their intricate carvings and splendid architecture. Highlights include the Kandariya Mahadeo Temple, the Chitragupta Temple, and the Jain temples like Parsvanatha temple, Adinatha temple and Ghantai temple.

Day : 1 Feburary 2025 : Khajuraho –Prayagraj (300 KM, 6 HOURS)

Following breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Khajuraho and proceed on a drive to Prayagraj. Upon arrival, check in at a camp situated near the sacred site of the Kumbh Mela. Prayagraj (Allahabad), historically known as Prayag, signifies the “Place of Sacrifice” in Sanskrit and is believed to be the location where Lord Brahma performed his first sacrificial offering after the creation of the world.

A visit to the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the sacred rivers; Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati, is an essential experience. The Saraswati, though invisible, is believed to flow underground and merge with the other two rivers. At this confluence, the pale-yellow waters of the Ganges blend with the blue waters of the Yamuna, creating a spiritually charged environment. It is at this junction that the Kumbh Mela, the largest spiritual gathering in the world, takes place.

The Kumbh Mela is an extraordinary event that offers a vivid portrayal of Hindu religion and philosophy. You will be captivated by the colourful crowds, adorned in various traditional attire, reflecting the festival’s eclectic and spiritual essence.

The atmosphere at the Kumbh Mela is electrifying, resonating with the sounds of bells, the chanting of Vedic hymns and mantras, and the magnificent processions of Naga Sadhus and other Akhaaras on camels and elephants, parading in gold and silver chariots. These holy men display their strength and devotion, contributing to the enchanting and spiritual ambiance of the festival. The remainder of the day is yours to absorb the profound and transformative atmosphere of the Kumbh Mela.

Day : 2 Feburary 2025: Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj

Today, you will continue to witness the grandeur of the Kumbh Mela, the largest spiritual congregation in the world that draws millions of devotees. A significant number of Sadhus and their disciples make Prayagraj their temporary home during this period, providing a unique opportunity to observe and interact with these holy men who have dedicated their lives to meditation and spiritual practices.

The numerous Ashrams set up for this occasion serve as centres for religious discourse, where Sadhus and their followers engage in discussions about Hindu philosophy and spirituality. May participate in these discourses, gaining insights into the path to Moksha. Additionally, there may be opportunities to interact with these spiritual leaders and capture memorable moments with their permission.

According to Hindu mythology, the Kumbh Mela is the only time and place where one can absolve their sins and achieve ‘Nirvana,’ breaking the cycle of birth and rebirth. Participate in the ritual of taking dips in the holy waters of the Ganges, believed to cleanse all sins. Light a Diya, make a wish, and immerse yourself in the spiritual ambiance. After a day filled with profound experiences and bustling activities, return to the camp for a restful night.

Day : 3 Feburary 2025: Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj (BASANT PANCHAMI)

Today marks one of the most auspicious and significant days of the Kumbh Mela: Basant Panchami. You will start your day early with a visit to the Triveni Ghat (Sangam) to witness the holy bath of pilgrims during this sacred festival. Basant Panchami, also known as Vasant Panchami, is celebrated as the fifth day of the Spring season, signifying the arrival of spring and marking the end of winter.

During Basant Panchami, the air is filled with vibrancy and joy as Hindus celebrate the onset of spring. The festival is dedicated to Saraswati Puja, honouring Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and arts. This day is believed to bestow virtues and blessings upon those who bathe in the sacred waters of the Sangam, making it a spiritually enriching experience.

In addition to the spiritual significance, you will have the opportunity to witness the Peshwai Procession, a grand and elaborate parade of the Naga Sadhus. This royal procession signifies the arrival of various Akharas (sects of ascetics) at the Kumbh Mela and is accompanied by impressive displays of pomp and ceremony, with participants traveling on majestic elephants and horses.

The remainder of the day will be spent immersing yourself in the festival’s activities and the lively atmosphere of the fair. After a day full of engaging experiences and celebrations, return to your camp for a well-deserved rest.

Day : 4 Feburary 2025: Prayagraj – Varanasi (200 KM, 4 HOURS)

Enjoy breakfast at the camp before departing for Varanasi. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and prepare to explore one of India’s most sacred cities. Varanasi is most important place of pilgrimage for Hindus and the sight of devout praying standing water deep in Ganges.

In the evening, visit Dashashwamedh Ghat to witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti. This daily ritual, performed by a group of priests, is a sight to behold. The flames, chants, and incense will envelop you in a profound spiritual ambiance.

Day : 5 Feburary 2025: Varanasi boat ride and visit to Sarnath

Begin your day with an early morning boat ride on the Ganges. As you glide along the river, watch Varanasi come to life with people performing their morning rituals and bathing in the holy waters. Witness the poignant scenes at the ghats where cremations take place, signifying the cycle of life and death.

Afterwards, embark on a city tour of Varanasi, visiting various temples. In the afternoon, we will take an excursion to Sarnath, a revered Buddhist site where Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. This serene and historic place is one of the holiest sites in Asia. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day : 6 February 2025: Departure form Varanasi

On your final morning, enjoy breakfast before we transfer you to Varanasi Airport for your onward flight. (Hotel check out before 12pm). Depart with everlasting memories of this mesmerizing tour, carrying the spiritual and cultural imprints of India in your heart.

PAYMENT

All payments have be made to State Express, by cash, Credit card or electronic money transfer. There may be a surcharge applicable if you make payment by credit card and payment has to be made in equivalent Indian Rupees if quoted in foreign currency.

In case of bank transfers, all bank charges need to be paid by the client and we must receive full amount as per invoice in our bank

DEPOSIT

Upon confirmation of services, a deposit of 25% of the tour cost per person unless otherwise specified by us, will be paid
to the company.

BALANCE

Once the deposit has been received an invoice will be sent along with a receipt for the already paid amount. The balance of the payment must be paid 60 days prior to the tour departure unless otherwise specified. Failure to pay the balance within the specified period will result in the cancellation of the booking and levy penalty.

IF YOU CANCEL YOUR TOUR

If you or any member of your party wishes to cancel your tour, you must notify us in writing, in any case the date of cancellation will be at the date on which notice is received by us.

The cancellation charges will be as follows unless otherwise specified by State Express in writing.

INSURANCE

Travel insurance is not included in our cost and we recommend all our clients to buy suitable comprehensive insurance policy to cover any loss and damages.

OUR LIABILITY

State Express takes all reasonable steps in ensuring that the organisation maintains standards and provide a service that should be acceptable to the passengers. However, we would like to draw attention to the following circumstances, which fall outside our direct control or where for some reason we are not prepared to accept liability.

The Company shall, in no circumstances whatsoever be liable to the client or any person travelling with him or her for:  Any death, personal injury, sickness accidents, increased expenses, damage or theft howsoever caused.

Any act, omission, default of any independent contractor or other person or by any servant or agents employed by them who may be engaged or concerned in the provision of accommodation, refreshment, carriage facility or service for the client or for any person travelling with him howsoever caused.

State Express is unable to take liability for commercial arrangements out of our control such as natural disasters, industrial disputes, reason of threat or war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activities, technical problems to the transport, extreme weather conditions, closure of the airports and sea ports and similar event out of our control, or are due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond your control. In case of any incident such as train or flight delays / cancellation resulting in change of program and extra cost, the same will have to be borne by the clients and we can only do our best in making the necessary changes in best possible manner at the cost of the clients and try to get refund from train / airlines if possible but do not accept any liability arising out of such situation.
