WHEN IS THE NASHIK KUMBH MELA 2027?
The Simhastha officially runs from 31 October 2026 to 24 July 2028. The principal bathing days, the Amrit Snan, fall on 2 August, 31 August, 11 September and 12 September 2027.
WHERE IS THE NASHIK KUMBH MELA HELD?
At two sacred sites about 30 km apart: Ramkund on the Godavari in Nashik city, where the Vaishnava akharas bathe, and Kushavarta Kund at Trimbakeshwar, where the Shaiva akharas bathe.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO ATTEND?
The Amrit Snan days are the most spectacular. We recommend arriving at least two days before an Amrit Snan date and staying at least two nights.
HOW DO I REACH NASHIK?
Fly into Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, approximately 170 km from Nashik, and continue by road. Nashik’s Ozar airport has domestic flights, and Nashik Road is the main railway station.
DO I HAVE TO BOOK HOTELS, TRAINS, FLIGHTS AND TRANSPORT IN ADVANCE? CAN YOU DO THAT FOR US?
Yes, book early: demand around the Amrit Snan dates is very high. We can arrange your camp, hotels, trains, flights and transport.
DO YOUR CAMPS HAVE ATTACHED TOILET FACILITIES?
Yes. Our guests stay in carefully selected tented camps close to the ghats. Every tent has an attached bathroom with hot and cold running water. Tents come in three categories: Luxury, Premium and Deluxe.
WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?
The Mela falls in the monsoon. Nashik is cool and green, with highs of 25–27°C and lows of 21–22°C. August and September are the wettest months.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Dress conservatively. Women should wear long trousers, ankle-length skirts, Punjabi suits or saris, and must bathe fully clothed. Bring a light raincoat, an umbrella and shoes with a good grip for the wet ghats.
